SAIC's presence in Europe is limited at best through its MG brand, but if its sales are almost exclusively concentrated in its home Chinese market currently, MG's design roots are firmly planted in its spiritual British soil. All current Morris Garages cars – the MG6, 3 and 5 (in chronological order) as well as the CS concept shown at the Shanghai motor show in April – are products of SAIC's European Design Centre in Longbridge, near Birmingham in the English midlands, albeit finalized in Shanghai. The studio was opened in 2010 after a £5million investment in SAIC's UK Technical Centre but such are the ambitions of the company that it has already received a further £1.5million investment to almost double its size.
The Bentley Continental Supersports caught out testing before its UK launch next year

Bentley introduced us the the ‘Green’ Bentley Continental Supersports at the Geneva Motor Show in February, and they are now out shaking the car down in Europe – our snappers caught the Supersports out on the road near the Nurburgring. Clearly identifiable as a Supersports from the bonnet vents and the huge air scoops at the front, this 621bhp monster is due to go on sale in the UK in the New Year. Bentley engineers have increased the output of the Supersports to a really massive 621bhp by fettling the new Bentley to run on Bioethanol E85 and the modification of the injectors and valves, allowing the same performance whether the car is run on E85 or regular petrol.

Last week saw the first details and pictures of the New Vauxhall Astra (preceded by teaser shots of the Astra), and news that Vauxhall are now offering off-the-shelf Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer police cars in the UK. And now comes the news that Vauxhall has released its most economical car ever – the Vauxhall Corsa ecoFLEX.
